the sticky forest floor is the
resting place for fleeting, folding
trilliums. these forbidden flowers
that we're only allowed to paint,
not pick.

adorned and adored,
fleeting and folding.

flora and fauna
are the exercise of the earth sweating,
and the flora of our walls and desks give
me thoughts like:

     your body is the bridge,
     the structure under my bridge.

flora and fauna,
painting and precision,
the bridge under my body.

the resting white trilliums are
brilliant in their immaculate structure,
the bridges they form.
the bridges they form
around the forest floor.
so take comfort in this:

no matter where you are you can always get home,
all roads lead to home.
